Allison Green was the traditional Washing Green and the steps down to the Powmillion Burn can still be seen near Bridge Street entrance. This area is still used by some of the cafes as a drying green for tea towels.

The open space has flower beds and seats and is an ideal spot for a picnic.

The public toilets are also located here at the Green Street entrance.
