STRATHAVEN AND GLASSFORD COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Attractions
:  John Hastie and George Allen Parks
The two parks form Strathaven Park. The George Allen Park has a children's play area, boating pond, bowling green putting green, tennis courts and a band stand. There is also a miniature railway, run by volunteers which operates at weekends in the summer. The John Hastie Park has football pitches. The Powmillion burn runs through the two parks which are joined by footpaths.
Situated on the edge of the Park lies the John Hastie Museum, named after a local grocer and landowner. After his death, proceeds from his estate went into the creation of the park. The Museum is open from April to September.
